Community Library
With materials funded by The National Lottery Community Fund the library was built by trustee, Cyril Benson. It has an open front to give access at the lower levels to wheelchair users and all the books are housed in weatherproof boxes. There are two, large boxes solely for children’s books. Visitors to the library can take away whatever books they like and can donate their own books by leaving them in the plastic boxes. We thank the Macclesfield Community Initiative – Children and Baby Library for the regular supply of children’s books.
A number of volunteers regularly check on the library, keeping it clean and tidy.
Note – Book donations: We ask that you only donate books if there is room in the boxes as we have no secondary storage facility and the books must be stored in the boxes to prevent exposure to the weather. If there is no room please take your books to a local charity shop.
New for 2024 – We have applied for grant funding for a small container for the gardening tools and if successful this would also provide storage for additional books.
