MAY 2025-We are planning a community get together in Lyme Green Community Park, once again we will have the ‘adopt a resident’ initiative where if you struggle to get to the park under own steam or suffer from loneliness and are worried that you will be at the event on your own, we will arrange for a local family to pick you up and if you wish you can remain with them in the park and enjoy the music and entertainment.
We will make everything as accessible as possible for those with mobility issues.
There will be craft projects and mindfulness activities. By joining in we hope you will make new friends and learn new skills, we want you to feel a sense of belonging in your community.
For those interested music there will be a workshop run by a professional musician and teacher in Djembe (Instrument from West Africa)
There will be lots of activities for the children.
We will support those families/individuals who are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis. Entry will be free. You can bring your own picnic if you wish as many do.
There will be refreshments and food available to buy.
You will meet volunteers who live local and help with the upkeep of the park, you may be interested in joining them.
Already many of your neighbours are helping us to plan this community event, these volunteers are organising various elements such as a cake stall, raffle and tombola which will raise funds to support the event, we have applied to the National Lottery for help with this event, the expenses are quite high with arranging musicians, a generator, toilets, first aid cover, a skip, printing, table/gazebo hire and much more.
